Each company was formed with an £8 investment from the
company directors

Having allocated roles in their companies, and generated initial ideas, a phase of market research was launched with potential customers getting asked about preferred flavour, textures, size and price.

"Most people liked the chocolate but said we needed to add more chocolate powder. So we will be adding more chocolate powder for the biscuits that we sell".

Following the market research, the companies produced a business plan working out how much profit they thought they could make.

Now it was time to advertise. The companies chose a range of strategies from leaflets and posters radio and TV advertising. The price of each type of advertising was linked to the likely effectiveness so TV cost a lot more than a leaflet.  Each one had to be paid for out of the company's bank account.

The takings were added up, the original investment of £8 repaid and the 6 most profitable companies made it through to the final and the a Boardroom showdown with Sir Alan

Only 2 companies managed to make a loss - what were you doing Marvellous Mountain Magic
and Flaming Dragons? Congratulations to Biscuit Heaven who turned £8 into £19.65 profit - stunning!

The day was set for selling and all the companies went into production in earnest. Packaging came in many shapes and sizes. Pitches to sell from had to be paid for with different pitches having different values depending on their location.

In a packed boardroom, 'Biscuits R Us' were triumphant and enjoyed a huge pizza feast sponsored and delivered by Domino Pizza in Oxford Road- bid thanks to them!

And what of the £102 combined profit from all the companies?

After an online poll....

They spent it buying clean drinking water for 132 people via OXFAM
