The gardens are situated at the bottom of Western Elms Avenue (behind some garages and adjacent to Lidl and the railway track). It takes about 10 minutes to walk there. It is a real tranquil spot - there are allotments, a natural garden, trees, bird boxes, flower beds, wild flower gardens, a pond with an array of wildlife, a summer house, shed with tools, and a compost toilet. Great for picnics, minibeast hunts, observing wildlife, etc. The key is kept in the school office, but you need to let a member of the committee know when you intend to visit as other schools do often visit too. email : beryl.heaton@ntlworld.com We have taken our Nursery classes a couple of times and for children that do not have access to their own garden, it is an invaluable resource. |
